Village Council Ends Membership with LMFR & Contracts with Deer Park-Silverton Joint Fire District for Fire/EMS Services

GOLF MANOR (11/10/2021) – Golf Manor Village Council unanimously voted to end the Village’s membership in the Little Miami Joint Fire & Rescue District (LMFR) effective March 1, 2022.

This action took place during Council’s regular meeting conducted on Monday, November 8, 2021 after the Village Administration and Council conducted an extensive 2-year study to evaluate current fire protection and emergency medical services provided to the community.

Along with the decision to end membership with LMFR, Council immediately authorized and entered into agreement with the Deer Park-Silverton Joint Fire District (DPS) to provide the same replacement services to the Village starting on March 1, 2022. At that time, Village residents and businesses will receive the same prompt and professional support they have relied upon since the Village was incorporated in 1947. There will be no interruption of fire and emergency medical services during the transition to DPS.

When Council announced this study in April, Mayor Stefan Densmore stated, “Our first priority is always to ensure that our residents and businesses enjoy the same superior fire and emergency medical services they have relied upon for years. Our mission is to provide superior services at the best cost available.” In that spirit, the Village Administration looks forward to a positive relationship with DPS Chief Denny Meador and the professional men and women of Station 89 as they serve the residents of our community.

Council will provide additional details about the transition and how this will impact a potential reduction in taxes over the next several weeks.
