New Salt Storage Bin Ready to Serve

GOLF MANOR (9/27/2019) – The Village’s long-awaited salt storage bin has been constructed and is ready to serve the road needs of residents this coming Winter.

Planning for the new bin began in 2016 to replace an asphalt area that was secured with stacked road barricades for salt storage. The new, all-concrete structure was planned by Village Administration with help from the Village Road engineer JMA Consultants. Bids for the work were requested in the Spring with the final bid being awarded to Golf Manor’s own Scott Concrete.

Andy Lanser, the Village’s Asst. Administrator stated, “The completion of the salt bin will allow our maintenance crew to safely and efficiently store and move salt to our trucks to ensure safe streets during Winter weather events. We appreciate the taxpayers and residents investing in this structure.”

Future plans for the bin will include constructing a more permanent structure over the top to protect the stored materials from the weather.

The bin is located behind the Municipal Building at 6450 Wiehe Road, next to the maintenance building. Feel free to stop by and take a look.
