Gas Aggregation Opt-Out Letters Received This Week

GOLF MANOR (4/29/2019) – Residents of the Village of Golf Manor who have not signed long-term energy supply contracts for natural gas, received or will receive a letter from Constellation NewEnergy, the supplier for the Village’s natural gas aggregation program.

Golf Manor residents voted to allow the purchase of natural gas and electricity on their behalf through a group purchasing program in November 2014. The program is an opt-out program meaning all residential gas and electric customers within the Village are automatically enrolled in Village aggregation program. You do have the choice of opting out of the program at each renewal period.

The letter you have or will receive has informed you that the natural gas rate through the Village program, for the period of June 2019 through May 2022 will be $0.396 per Ccf, a significant reduction from the current rate. If you wish to decline participating in the Village natural gas program, you may do so in one of three ways by May 14, 2019:

  • Mail the completed opt-out form you received in the mail in the envelope provided
  • Call Constellation at 844-290-8486
  • Notify Constellation online at www.constellation.com/oh-golfmanor

It is important that you make an informed choice about your electric and natural gas provider before changing to another distributor. Before you make the decision to opt-out, check your Duke Energy bill and make sure that the natural gas Ccf rate you are currently being charged is at least equal to or less than the $0.396 per Ccf rate offered by the Village program during the rate period.

This time of year, there are numerous companies offering “better” rates. They may come to your front door, call you on the phone or send mailers. These solicitors may or may not be offering a savings to you. Note that representatives from the Village aggregation program will NEVER call you or knock on your door. Any mailers you receive will be branded with the Golf Manor logo as you see in the example above. Also, never show your electric bill to someone at your door or give your Duke Energy account number to someone who calls you on the phone.

The Village is pleased to make this program available however, understand that Golf Manor does not manage the program nor is Village staff prepared to answer any specific questions about the program, individual rates and/or savings, how natural gas or electric rates are negotiated, or how they apply to your specific situation. Those questions must be directed to the respective companies at the contact information provided here.
