Increased Patrols of Peace Officers in Golf Manor this Summer
GOLF MANOR (6/6/2024) – Golf Manor Mayor Stefan Densmore and Police Chief Chris Campbell today announced an enhanced patrol effort by the Golf Manor Police Department (GMPD) in the Village this summer.
Since school has been out the past several weeks, there has been an increased number of complaints about the noise of youth after curfew, as well as youth-at-play dangerously failing to clear streets for moving vehicles. Additional concerns include the discharge of toy pellet guns, which has reportedly damaged property, harmed pets and bystanders, and raised concerns that these toys might be misidentified, potentially leading to a dangerous escalation of tensions.
Mayor Densmore stated, “The Golf Manor Police are among the best trained peace officers in the State of Ohio. They are good with kids and know how to safely redirect the more alarming unruly behavior we sometimes see. These increased patrols will ensure safety and address concerns residents have about maintaining curfew, helping keep the peace in the village during these summer months. We are fortunate as a Village to have so many families with children. The increased patrols are an opportunity for residents, kids, and our peace officers to get to know and support one another, in providing spaces for everyone to safely enjoy.”
Starting Friday, June 7th, evening police patrols will increase on residential streets at varied times and days. In addition to the increased patrols, Golf Manor observes a curfew from 11 PM to 5 AM Sunday through Thursday, and 12 AM to 5 AM Saturday and Sunday, for individuals under 18 years of age. Exceptions to this exist for work schedules and parental accompaniment. Mayor Densmore is considering modifying the weekend curfew as necessary.
Police Chief Campbell said, “Residents are requested, as always, to report any unusual behavior or incidents directly to the Golf Manor Police Department at (513) 825-2280, to notify officers on duty of the situation. For everyone’s safety, if you see something, say something.”
