Permanent Speed Hump Installation to Begin On October 19
GOLF MANOR (Update 10/19/2020) –Due to the heavy and persistent rains, construction of the speed humps will be delayed until later this week when conditions are supposed to dry out..
GOLF MANOR (10/16/2020) –Permanent speed calming devices (speed humps) will be installed throughout the Village starting on Monday, October 19, 2020, weather permitting. The Village administration has been working with Police Chief Chris Campbell and the road engineer to identify optimal areas where traffic calming pavement may be installed to curtail excessive speeding.
Council accepted a bid to fund the traffic calming pavement project back in September. The project is expected to be completed in 10 business days, again weather permitting.
Speed humps will be installed on asphalt streets including Hammel, Graceland, Mayflower, Elbrook, Englewood, Canterbury, and St. Albans. Speed humps were installed on Ardmore and Stover during recently completed road projects. Permanent humps will also be installed on Vera during the 2021 road project scheduled in 2021.
In addition, the Village will also be installing additional electronic speed signs on Bremont and Losantiville. The equipment is on order and will be installed when received.
The speed monitoring signs and the speed humps are important tools to help the police department control excessive speed on our streets.
All of these projects are important to maintaining the integrity of our streets but also add to the value of properties in the Village.
