Regional First Responder Training to be Conducted Aug. 16 & 17 at CHDS

GOLF MANOR (8/14/2018) – This Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17, 2018, the Village of Golf Manor Police Department (GMPD) and Little Miami Fire & Rescue District (LMFR) will conduct a regional 2-day training session that will focus on situations that first-responders may encounter at a school campus. This joint training exercise is being provided to assist regional police and fire department response to an active threat incident.
This exercise brings together command, law enforcement, and fire rescue jurisdictions from across the State of Ohio and affords an opportunity to develop and test response capabilities in an active threat or active shooter incident. In addition, assets from Federal, state, and local entities, as well as aircraft from local hospitals, and command units from Hamilton County will also participate.
The Cincinnati Hebrew Day School (CHDS) campus, located at 6701 Elbrook Avenue, will host parts of this training throughout the two days, which at times may appear to be very realistic and intensive to the community with the number of personnel and equipment that will be deployed.
On Thursday, police departments from throughout the State of Ohio will be on site at CHDS. On Friday the training will be more intense as various types of emergency equipment including police vehicles, fire engines, armored vehicles, and helicopters will be deployed and put into action concepts learned throughout the training.
There will be a lot of action in and around the CHDS building. As a result, access to the Amberley campus may be limited or completely restricted on Thursday and Friday of this week.
