Pleasant Ridge Montessori Donuts for Dudes – April 14th
At our Pleasant Ridge Montessori Neighborhood School, we believe that family and community engagement creates a truly successful school. Our goal is to create a culturally responsive, collaborative and diverse community that is focused on authentic learning. We strive to achieve this goal in a variety of ways, and I am writing today to ask for your help with one of those endeavors.
We are planning an event to honor and engage the special males in both our children’s lives and our community called Donuts for Dudes. This event has a two-fold purpose of welcoming the special males in our children’s lives into the building to spend time with the children, and to help the men in our community know various ways that they can connect with the school and support their children. The event will engage the whole school community in celebrating men that morning; children will have the opportunity to have the special males in their lives join us here at school for activities, coffee and donuts.
Children who are unable to have a special male join them that morning will engage with male volunteers from various local businesses, fraternities, etc. in the classrooms while sharing donuts and juice. The event will be held from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. here at PRM on Friday, April 14th.
We are asking for your help in supporting the children in the classroom who are unable to have a special male join them that morning. We want every child to feel supported, and to meet a variety of male role models in our community. If you are able to join us that morning, you would be assigned to a classroom and you would simply visit with the children. The children may show you their work, and you may even help them with an activity. We will serve donuts and coffee for you at this time.
If you are willing to act as a volunteer in this capacity on Friday, April 14th from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m., could you please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Mr. Jason Poland, at polandj@cpsboe.k12.oh.us. Please let us know if you have any questions about the event, by contacting us at 363-4490. Thank you for all that you do to support our community.
