Sexual Offender Residency Ordinance Strengthened by Village Council

GOLF MANOR (5/26/2018) – Golf Manor’s Village Council on May 14, 2018, passed Ordinance 2018-4 (ORD. 2018 – 4) reaffirming and adopting findings made within Chapter 2950 of the Ohio Revised Code regarding persons identified as “sexual offenders” and required to register under Ohio Revised Code (ORC) §2950.04.

ORC §2950.04 establishes a restriction for registered sexual offenders occupying residential premises within 1,000 feet of any school premises. Village ORD. 2018 – 4 establishes additional residency restrictions for registered sexual offenders required to register under ORC. §2950.04. These restrictions include residing within 1,000 feet of any school premises, any day care facility premises, playground premises, park premises, swimming pool premises, athletic field premises, and church premises.

The 1,000 feet limitation is measured from the nearest property line of the residential premises occupied to the nearest property line of the school, daycare facility, playground, park, library, swimming pool, church or non-school athletic field premises.

Sex offender registries are public record and are accessible through local sheriff’s offices , incuding the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The information, which includes a photo and the charge of conviction, can also be found here.
