Recreation Commission Working Session Scheduled for Tuesday, August 20th at 6PM
A working session of the Recreation Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20th, at 6PM in Council Chambers.
The current ordinances that reference the Recreation Commission are extremely outdated and the advice from our solicitor is to start from scratch. This provides a unique opportunity to the residents on the Commission to design how it will operate in the years to come. This meeting will be completely dedicated to answering questions and to provide information, such as:
- What are the expectations of a Recreation Commissioner?
- What is the time commitment a Recreation Commissioner role requires?
- What is the Recreation Commission supposed to do? What are they allowed to do?
The agenda posted below includes links to other organizations and municipalities that have frameworks in place. These are to be used as a reference to gather ideas that we’ll assemble into Golf Manor’s Recreation Commission’s organizational structure and bylaws. The other attachment is a summary of the current ordinances that will be replaced by the work produced in the working session.
GM Recreation Commission Working Session Agenda 08.20.2024
If you are not currently a Recreation Commissioner, we encourage you to attend the working session and provide your input. We may have vacancies that will need to be filled and this is a great way to learn about the Recreation Commission and how you can make an impact in your community. Pre-registration is not required; just complete a same-day registration card when you arrive.
