An event to support prenatal Health and Child Development will occur in Volunteer Park this Saturday, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Everyone is welcome. The 513 Relief Bus will be there along with a number of other service providers. The 513 Relief bus is a mobile resource center that helps struggling individuals and families connect to resources. The bus is usually only available during the week, specifically not weekends, which is a problem for those who work during the week. So we’re very happy that this event is being held on a weekend, and that it will be held right here in the village.

Hamilton county has a higher infant mortality rate than the national average, and higher than the average for the State of Ohio as well. This is also true for teen mortality rates (kids through the age of 19). The resource event has a number of service providers (beyond the 513 relief bus) that will be at the park to provide information and hands on services supporting better outcomes for infants and youth in Hamilton County. There is a full list of the providers that will be in attendance, listed below.

As it is a family event, we have some activities for kids while the adults are learning about resources– Cincinnati Circus will be providing a number of games, and Kona Ice will be here with FREE icees while supplies last.
