Matt’s 5K Pursuit was held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Spring Grove Cemetery. Matt Haverkamp started Golf Manor’s first K9 Unit. Haverkamp died in 2005 after a non-duty related car accident.  His parents, Nancy and Bruce Havekamp started The Matt Haverkamp Foundation which has purchased more than 50 K9s for local law enforcement since they were established in 2005.

The Matt’s 5K Pursuit raises money to benefit police departments in the Greater Cincinnati area, as well as honor Matt’s memory. The money goes to the Matt Haverkamp Foundation, which purchases K9s for departments throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. The money is also used to cover the cost of training K9s.

To date, the foundation has been able to purchase 54 dogs for local agencies. In 2017 alone, the foundation was able to buy and train 12 K9s.
