DEA National Rx TakeBack Day Sat. April 22, 2023 10 am – 2 PM in Golf Manor
GOLF MANOR (4/19/2023) – The Village of Golf Manor will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10 am to 2 pm.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
The Golf Manor Police Department hosts a free prescription drug drop off site at the Police department located inside the lobby of the Municipal Building located at 6450 Wiehe Road.
As part of the Ohio Prescription Drug Drop Box Program, the collection bin is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The box provides a convenient way to get unneeded, potentially addictive and deadly drugs out of homes and away from children and addicts, out of the garbage, away from animals and out of the water supply.
Not accepted at the site are liquids, aerosols, inhalers, needles or (plastic/glass) bottles.
*Due to incineration requirements, plastic pill bottles are not accepted. Please place all pills and tablets into a zip-lock type bag for disposal.*
